Feeding your baby is one of the most important and time-consuming tasks you will face in the months after your baby is born. Preparation can help you plan for and adjust to the joys and challenges it will bring. In this class, IBCLC Ruth Seaton will discuss everything you need to know to get a smooth start to breastfeeding your baby. We have a small class setting where we can discuss your individual questions, concerns, fears, and probably even some myth busting.
My goal for the class is that you leave with knowledge and confidence to begin breastfeeding when your baby arrives.
Topics include:
– Supplies to have on hand and preparing your space
– The first few days
– The first few weeks
– The rest of the journey
– Pumping
– Weaning
– Common challenges and difficulties
Handouts available to class participants provide information on safe storage of breastmilk, maternal nutrition, and the partner’s role.
